New Episodes of Feeling Seen Podcast

November 3, 2025

The Feeling Seen podcast hosted by Dr. Erinn Scott, Psy.D. and Dr. Anthony Teasdale, Ph.D., staff psychologists at CAPS has launched four new episodes.

The latest episodes explore topics such as managing emotions, failure, and having gratitude.

  1. No Bad Emotions: In this episode, we dive into the topic of emotions and explore why labeling feelings as “good” or “bad” can be misleading. Join us as we talk about how to see emotions in a more balanced, compassionate way.
  2. Failure is not the End of the World (Parts 1 & 2): These episodes explore the idea that failure is an inevitable and valuable part of life. Avoiding failure often limits growth and new experiences, while embracing it can lead to learning and success. The hosts discuss how fear of failure, especially among university students, can create anxiety and hold people back. They encourage listeners to shift their mindset, viewing failure not as an end, but as an opportunity for growth and discovery.
  3. Gratitude: Practicing gratitude by noticing small moments throughout your day can help you recognize the positive aspects of your environment. Mindfulness and gratitude remind us that we are more than what we may be feeling in any given moment. Gratitude can be directed toward others, but it’s equally important to extend it to yourself. In this episode, the hosts discuss how gratitude can help you feel more present with both your mind and body.

On the podcast, colleagues and friends come together to discuss and demystify mental health, therapy, and help seeking, and have some fun in the process. This podcast speaks directly to UNC and its students, giving listeners a more personal side of CAPS and its staff.

There’ll be insights, laughter, and lessons learned—all aimed at breaking stigma and helping everyone “feel seen.”
