Start the Semester Strong

Strategies to Set Yourself Up for Success
You can sum up health and wellbeing advice to two strategies: create a rhythm and ask for help.
Create a Rhythm
Figure out how you’re going to fit in classes and wellbeing. If you set yourself up well now, the rest of the semester will be easier.
- Sleep matters. Aim for 7–9 hours—yes, really.
- Eat food. Fuel your body. Regularly. With a variety of yummy food.
- Drink water. Carry a reusable bottle and keep it filled.
- Move your body. Walk, stretch, hit the rec center—do what feels good.
- Make time for fun. Laughter, music, sunshine, new friends—it all counts.
- Find your calm. Check out the Heels Care Network for mental health support and events.
Ask for help
Carolina is full of supportive resources - most of which already paid for by your student fees. Use them! And ask for help early - before you get overwhelmed.
Being at UNC-Chapel Hill is a big transition, but you're not in this alone. You belong here.
