UNC-Chapel Hill provides students brief therapy thru CAPS as well as through the telehealth provider Mantra Health.

Both CAPS and Mantra Health therapists can offer a student their first interaction with a therapist within a day and provide brief therapy at no cost to the student. Mantra Health operates as solely as a brief teletherapy (online) provider.

Mantra Health may be able to offer students availability on nights and weekends as well as a large pool of therapists.

Those students seeking connection with Mantra Health should either:

  • Visit CAPS for an initial assessment OR
  • Email Mantra@unc.edu with your name and PID. CAPS staff will reply with the necessary information to create an online account. The student can then find and connect with a Mantra Health therapist that matches their preferences including clinical need, gender, ethnicity, language, and availability.
