DESCRIPTION:Excessive screen time can result in headaches and sleep deprivation\, as well as sedentary behavior\, weakened relationships\, and feelings of sadness. SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour training that will give students\, staff\, and faculty the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual following a heart attack\, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis. \n\n\n\nThe School of Social Work has been the primary UNC Chapel Hill campus provider of Mental Health First Aid since 2015. In late 2021\, the federal grant that had historically funded the program ended. We are excited to announce that UNC Chapel Hill administration has now provided funding for the program to continue in 2023! \n\n\n\nThis training will be held virtually\, on 10/19/2023 & 10/20/2023 (Thursday & Friday) from 9:00 am - noon.
