SUMMARY:Active Minds Presents: iGen's Battle to be Mentally Healthy in a Digital Era
DESCRIPTION:With who? \n\n\n\nKeegan is a first-year student at UNC-Chapel Hill\, a member of the youth leadership council at Mental Health America\, and Youth Advisory Board at The American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Bilal Ghandour and is a Professor of Psychology at Elon University and Licensed Clinical Psychologist. \n\n\n\nWhat is it about? \n\n\n\nKeegan Lee and Dr. Bilal Ghandour\, Ph.D. are the published co-authors of “60 Days of Disconnect” - a psychological perspective of how social media affects human behavior and mental health. This presentation will explore both personal and scientific perspectives as it relates to our digital world. Keegan and Dr. Ghandour intertwines storytelling\, research\, and introspection to help you understand the psychology behind the platforms\, and the effect social media has on the first generation to be born into a world of social media: Generation Z. \n\n\n\nBenefits:  \n\n\n\nThis is a great social opportunity to learn more about mental health disparities and how to improve them from a professional. It could also be a potentially good way to network within the field! Open to everyone 🙂 \n\n\n\n__ \n\n\n\nThis event is funded at least in part by Student Fees which were appropriated and disbursed by the Undergraduate Student Government at UNC-Chapel Hill \n\n\n\nHeld in Greenlaw\, room 201
